Pilates Chairs

The Pilates chair is considered the machine of choice for Pilates exercise for many Pilates trainers. It provides excellent support for muscles and adds more resistance to gain endurance instead of using body weight and gravity like in traditional mat Pilates. Exercises on the chair are generally more challenging than on a reformer.

Exercises on the chair are generally more challenging than reformer pilates exercises, but design features like the chair’s handle design, for example, allow the chair to be made more supportive for people with muscle injuries.
